Portfolio

Hi I’m Dario, a freelance game programmer from Italy, with a big passion for game development and anything related to it.

My main skillset orbits around the Unity engine and C# which I’m using since 2012 to build projects on all kinds of platforms (mobile, desktop, Nintendo Switch, PS VR, Google Cardboard) and for all kinds of purposes, from education to interactive experiences.
As a freelancer I had the luck to work with people from all over the world sharing the same passion and I’m always looking forward for new opportunities to grow and move my career forward.

Long Term and Personal Projects

Last Epoch

Last Epoch is an action RPG being developed by Eleventh Hour Games which focuses on time travel.

After joining the team I had a chance to work on this big project and codebase improving existing systems, optimizing them, implementing new features and writing some shaders and editor tools to improve our workflow. I was also in charge of a complete rewrite of the item system.

Dash-Dash King

Dash-Dash King is my first release, an arcade mobile game available on Android.
The game is completely made by me and marks the time I went all in with game development in 2014

Project Sunrise

Before focusing on Last Epoch I was prototyping a mobile platform game in which the player has to roll a ball to solve puzzles. I’ll hopefully move forward with the idea one day, in the meantime it allowed me to write some performant mobile shaders which I really enjoyed.

Freelance Work

Freelancing online is a world on it’s own: you never know the next challenge and you have to be flexible.
I had to tackle the most usual and unusual problem: fetching data from servers, integrating SDKs, steam, controller support, making shaders for all kinds of situations, dealing with physics and particles, writing full prototypes and educational games, adapting games to portable consoles, but also allowing viewers to use their phones through a call centre service to control an art installation in real time.
